The Lost Sheeps – Springwater – 1 February 2008

The Lost Sheeps play the type of arrestingly simple country music that’s hard to find outside of Nashville. These are songs that could have been written 60 years ago, free of irony and pretense. It’s the type of music that makes me glad I moved to this lovely city. Even when the songs involve wanting to hang someone from the highest tree (which I don’t condone), I can’t help but smile.

Since I’m still getting used to my new camera, here’s a blurry photo of the boys:

My only hope is that they someday realize that the plural of ’sheep’ is simply ’sheep’. As a grammar freak, it really hurts to type ’sheeps’.

Four songs can be found on their Myspace page. I heartily recommend “On The Street”.

Finally, if you like these guys, then be sure to check out The New Hardwood Legends reunion show at Springwater on February 9, as they share 3 members. Unfortunately, the songs on their Myspace page are barely-audible, so you’re just gonna have to show up in order to see how great they are.
