Compare And Contrast: The Magnetic Fields vs Oasis vs . . . um, The Wallflowers

There was an article last week in Stereogum about TV On The Radio covering David Bowie’s “Heroes” for an upcoming War Child compilation. This reminded me of a long-forgotten time (my memory is hazy, but I think it was around 1997 or so) in which covers of “Heroes” kept popping up in unexpected places.

Below are 3 of those versions, objectively presented in order of quality, from the best to The Wallflowers.
