It’s Friday!

even newborn puppies wish this week would end
Bit of a slow week around Camp OpeAct. I was in a bummer mood for most of it, which led me to focus on other, more important things. Meanwhile, Tyge was also focusing on more important things, like his birthday and going to see Cheap Trick with other music bloggers.
Let’s recap the rest of the week:
- Prior to Cheap Tricking, Tyge ripped into an old guy and raised peanut awareness through kick-ass squirrel pictures (apparently, it’s actually a chipmunk).
- Shortly after posting this, eight more bands recorded covers of “Sweet Child O’ Mine”. Sadly, “Mr. Brownstone” remains uncovered in indie circles (get on it, Kid Cudi!).
- I still haven’t been able to think of a good headline for my Richard Hawley post.
- Music videos, both good and fucking awful.
- I loosened my dictatorial reigns on the Random Song feature and let a good friend pick the song for Tuesday. It was the least-downloaded Random Song ever. Thus ends The Opening Acts’ glasnost period.
- WAR!
- Pavement are getting back together, which led me to blather on like an old man.
- My first job after college was as a counselor at two group homes for foster kids with behavioral issues. At the boy’s home, there was a kid who had a haircut exactly like the one that Alela Diane sports in this video. This kid’s main issue was that he was incredibly asocial – had no clue how to function around others. He also couldn’t stop wetting the bed. Oh, and he would also hide his poop all over the group home. Good times.
Have a terrific weekend.
