Your Weekend Holiday – Read A Book Day

Fun reading for the whole family, except for the wife and kids!

Fun reading for the whole family, except for the wife and kids!

September 6th is Read a Book Day!

Also on this day in 1994 Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Tom Fogerty died of AIDS via a bad blood transfusion. In 1997 Princess Diana was laid to rest.

Why not read a page-turner about Creedence or a tragedy about English Royalty?

This weekend (just for the heck of it) you get two different versions of the same song by the same artist. Which one do you like best? I prefer the original as you can hear that starving artist ambition:

Echo & The Bunnymen – Read It In Books (1980)

Echo & The Bunnymen – Read It In Books (2003)

As they like to say across the pond, ta-ta for now.

Both have their +’s, have you heard The Teardrop Explodes version from Kilamanjaro? Another different take but interesting considering it was written by Cope/McCulloch or is it McCulloch/Cope?

Thanks Brian, will check out TTE’s version. I think it’s best to go with Cope/McCulloch because it’s alphabetical, ala Lennon/McCartney. Yea, that will avoided any complications.

Cope did a Teardrop’s version and later a 2nd version as solo b-side. I can email them to you if you’d like. Let me know. Brian
