Good And Free: A Duke Special Sampler
Duke Special, the charmingly dreadlocked Northern Irish act that I always confuse with the undreadlocked English act The Duke Spirit, have a free sampler available at their home page. It features 11 songs, which is a hell of a lot of quality music for free.
Included in this collection are two collaborations with my indie-pop mancrush, Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy. The first has Duke Special and Neil trading vocals on the old English tune “Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes”, which I featured as a Random Song back in June.
The other track is the following old-timey romp, which Neil Hannon wrote:

With it’s mix of album tracks, B-sides, and live sessions, the sampler’s a good way as any to get to know this underrated band/guy/whatever. All it takes is an email address and its yours. Go here, do the deed, then enjoy the freeness.
