I’ve clicked on about half of them (of course, I went for the Lambchop and Stephin Merritt songs immediately) – there’s not a bum song in the bunch, which is not too surprising considering the source material and the quality of the artists involved.
Per the words of Pitchfork, the album will be released in New Zealand on 16 November. Lucky bastards; those of us in the states will have to settle with these clips until Merge releases the album in February.
But – hey – while you’re waiting, you can apparently send them your own version of a Chris Knox / Tall Dwarfs song and they might post it on their site. Do that by going here. No one covered my favorite Chris Knox song (“A Song To Welcome The Onset Of Maturity” from Songs Of You & Me), so I just might have to give it a shot.
