It’s Friday!

gator

I went to the zoo on Wednesday.  That has nothing to do with music – I just wanted to share the cool gator picture I took.

Let’s recap the week:

- New Magnetic Fields! New Tindersticks! New Lambchop! And a Chris Knox tribute album to boot. It’s like God looked at my list of favorite bands and said, “let’s give him more”.

- Random Songs came and went from Broadcast, The Wannadies, Chappaquiddick Skyline, The Notwist, and Stars. You all really liked the Chappaquiddick Skyline song. Good for you.

- And you all really, really liked Part Three of the Magnetic Fields covers series. It warms my heart to know that our readers have such good taste. Someday we will meet, and we will hug for a long time. It’ll be awkward at first, but our trepidation will slowly ease. Oooh yeah, that feels good. You’re a pretty good hugger.

- In trying to start easing the strain of my inbox, I gave deserved props to some of the great bands that have been sending stuff my way. Check out my moderately competent reviews of The Middle Ones, Collider, and The Fear And Trembling.

- I asked a question. No one answered it. I cried. Life goes on.

- Tyge saw Leonard Cohen last night. Before that, he talked about spicy food tearing up his ass. In between, there was Lou Reed and Katrina & The Waves, who have a much milder effect on his digestive system.

I think that’s all.  The usual stuff should be coming your way this weekend – another holiday feature and Part Four of the seemingly-neverending Magnetic Fields cover series.  If the weather’s as lovely in your town as it currently is here in Nashville, make the most of it, OK?

Have a wonderful weekend.
