Pram, For No Real Reason

A band sent me a submission email last week (as did every band in the world, apparently, as my inbox is currently overloaded). As I listened to the first pair of (quite good) songs from their album, all I could think of was that it reminded me of Pram. Thing is, though, I couldn’t remember Pram’s name – spent about 5 minutes trying to think of it. After my brain came up empty, I turned to Google. All I could think to type in the search box was ‘bands that sound like Stereolab’. The answer I was looking for came up in the second search result.
I started to write something this afternoon about the band that sent me the submission email, but my mind kept wandering over to Pram. So instead of writing about the band I intended to write about, I just spent the last hour listening to Pram. And since it’s Saturday, and since I didn’t really have any intention of blogging today, let’s just listen to a Pram song and be done with it.
Here’s “Bewitched”, my favorite song of theirs from my favorite album of theirs, The Museum Of Imaginary Animals.
For the record, I don’t really think they sound like Stereolab, but it’s such a lazy comparison that I was sure it would turn up in a search result.
Apologies to the band that sent me the submission email (you sound like Pram, so I’m sure you know who you are) – I’ll give them a proper review next week. That’s all – I’m gonna step away from the laptop and enjoy my Saturday. You should do the same.
